Applications in prescribed forms are invited for the following posts at IIT Patna:

• Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in the Departments of Physics (all areas), Chemistry (all areas) Mathematics (all areas), Electrical Engineering (all areas), Mechanical Engineering (all areas), Computer Science and Engineering (all areas), & Humanities and Social Sciences (English Literature, Linguistics and Economics).

Qualifications: : Ph.D in the appropriate discipline with a very good academic record throughout. Candidates who have submitted their thesis, or are likely to submit shortly, may also apply.
Professors of an Institute of national importance who are on the verge of retirement or who have recently retired may also apply for a contract appointment.
Experience:

1. Professor: A minimum of 10 years of experience of which at least five years should be at the level of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor.
2. Associate Professor: A minimum of 8 years of teaching / research / industrial experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor.
3. Assistant Professor: At least 3 years of teaching / research / industrial experience.
   Senior Lecturer: This is not a regular cadre of the Institute. However, appointment as a Senior Lecturer can be made on a contract basis, ordinarily for a period of 3 years, but not exceeding 5 years.

Reservations for the positions of Senior Lecturer and Assistant Professor will be as per Govt. of India rules.
Pay Scales: Professor: Rs. 18,400-500-22,400, Associate Professor: Rs. 16,400-450-20,000,
Assistant Professor: Rs. 12,000-420-18,300, Senior Lecturer: Rs. 10,000-325-15,200
